Alberto Argenton was born in Asmara, Eritrea, in 1944, where he lived just for three years. He spent his childhood in Friuli (Italy) and adolescence in Mogadishu, Somalia. He graduated in Philosophy at University of Trieste (Italy) and, soon after, began his university career at the University of Padua (Italy). At the beginning of the eighties, he obtained the role of associate professor at the University of Padua, later assuming the teaching of Psychology of Art at the Faculty of Psychology of the same University. Since his childhood he has had a strong interest in drawing and painting, finding stimulus for this propensity in the artistic environment of Friuli, during the fifties, and later researching and developing a personal expressive language during his stay in Africa, in the sixties. After his return to Italy and graduation, he continued to cultivate, alongside the university research and teaching, drawing and painting, also finding moments of convergence between the two fields. An example of such happy combination of the two was the organization for some years of a painting workshop in a psychiatric institution. Over the years he has become a highly-regarded exhibitor nationally, with a particularly frequent presence at the Galleria La Chiocciola in 1980, 1981, 1982, 1983, 1986 and 1988 years.

Since the early nineties he has continued his artistic research completely in private.
