Essentially, in this paper my intent is that of demonstrating – in a schematic and rather simplified form – the existence of impregnating convergences of conceptual and methodological nature among some of the basic aspects of the theory and practice of conservation and restoration and those pertinent to the line of research that was and continues to be engaged in studying the interaction existing between the functioning of perception and of cognition and artistic representation and which presides over a broader and more general field of study of the psychology of art.
